It is my sad duty to announce the loss of Robert Morgan, Commander of Post 219 from 2015 -2016. Bob was a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer, his involvement with Post 219 included Commander also a dedicated Legion Rider and a leader with our Sea Cadet Chapter. Bob is mourned by all of us who knew and loved him. “Fair Winds and Following Seas” a service will be held at the National Cemetery in Webster later this month. Bob passed away on February 1. May he rest in eternal peace.
Also, Tom Zartman was called home to the Post Everlasting on 12 March. He has been home bound for the last 2 1/2 years. Tom served Post 219 as Commander, Adjutant, Finance Officer and virtually kept this post solvent along with Jim Maynard during the outbreak of COVID. I relied upon Tom during my first year as Post Commander. He not only was my friend but also my mentor on issues that helped me make good decisions. Tom has requested that he did not want any formal service on his passing. Lucy his loving wife and caretaker along with his daughter our heartfelt Love goes out to you and Post 219 stands ready if you need us. “Fair Winds and Following Seas” to our departed Comrade Tom Zartman.
“FOR GOD AND COUNTRY”
